We are offering the opportunity to work towards your DofE through Surrey Scouts. The DofE programme consists of three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The bulk of the award is completed by you taking part in activities to satisfy the Skills, Physical and Volunteering sections. The part where we can assist most is in the expedition section.

Obviously, we have the equipment needed to complete various waterborne expeditions if you choose that method of travel, but we can also provide training and Assessment for the required permits to enable you to complete your expeditions in line with the Scouts rules and regulations.
If you have already started a DofE programme at school and maybe not completed it, we can move your record over to Scouts and support you in restarting it or moving on to a new level. You have until your 25th birthday to complete DofE so it is never really too late.
We are gathering participants at the moment in order to prepare to start providing training once the weather improves in the Spring, so if this is something you are interested in, please let us know.
Costs are very reasonable. The registration fee is around £20 and you should expect to pay around £100-£200 for an expedition depending on location and level.
We are all volunteers, so apart from travel and accommodation costs, we keep the costs as low as possible. We (in Viking) also have a fund which can assist if finances are a real blocker.
To be confirmed We will have a parents and participant evening on the first Thursday back after new years (5th January 2023) where we can explain the various requirements for the sections and also look at options for expeditions. Its also a good opportunity for you to sign up
